Nongstoiñ Social Service Society (NSSS), Tiehsaw, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya – 793119, respects your privacy. This policy explains, in simple words, what information we collect when you apply to us through this website, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
1. Information we collect
When you apply for a job, a training course or an internship, we ask for:
- Your name, phone number and email address.
- Your village or town, district and educational qualification.
- For training courses: your date of birth, gender, address, nationality, religion, occupation, the name and occupation of your father, mother or guardian, and your answers to the eligibility questions (for example, whether you are tribal and your family income).
- For internships: your college or institution, your course and year, the kind of internship you want, and the letter from your college that you upload.
- Anything else you choose to write in the form, such as a short note about yourself.
Other documents (certificates, ID proof, photographs and so on) are not uploaded on this website. You hand them in at the NSSS office, and our staff only record on the computer that they have been received.
Like most websites, our web server also keeps a standard technical record of visits (such as the internet address of the device, the type of browser and the pages opened). This is used only to keep the website secure and to count visitors.
2. Why we use your information
- To consider your application and check that you meet the requirements.
- To contact you by phone or email about your application, interview, exam or training.
- To keep a record of applications, selections and trainees, as needed for our work and our reports.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not send you messages that have nothing to do with your application.
3. Who can see your information
Your application can be seen only by NSSS staff who have their own password for our staff area. When a new application arrives, a short notice with the reference number, your name, phone number and place is sent to the official NSSS email address so that our staff know to look at it.
We do not sell, rent or give your information to anyone outside NSSS, except where the law requires us to.
4. How we keep it safe
- The website uses a secure (https) connection, so the form is sent in encrypted form.
- Applications and uploaded letters are kept in a private folder on our web server that cannot be opened from the internet.
- The staff area is protected by passwords, locks itself after repeated wrong passwords, and keeps a record of what each staff member does.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your application only for as long as it is needed for the selection and for our records. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see below).
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your application and the information in it;
- stop using your information (this is called withdrawing your consent). If you do this before the selection is complete, we may no longer be able to consider your application.
To do any of these, contact us using the details below and tell us your name and your application reference number (for example, TRN-2026-0001), if you have it. We will reply as soon as we can.
7. Cookies
The application form and our staff area use one small cookie that is needed for the form to work securely. It is removed when you close your browser. We do not use cookies for advertising or to follow you on other websites.
8. Young applicants
If you are under 18 years of age, please apply with the knowledge of your parent or guardian.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will put the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
